What to do when Solar Flares Hit
Feeling wonky out of nowhere? Then it could be from a solar flare! Solar flares are large explosions from the surface of the sun that emit intense bursts of electromagnetic radiation. The intensity of the explosion determines what classification the flare belongs to. The most powerful are X-class flares, followed by M-, C- and B-class; A-class flares are the smallest. These flares can be visible as bright flashes in a particular region of the sun and can last several minutes.
Your symptoms may include physical fatigue, nausea, aches and pains, heart palpitations, mental exhaustion, crazy dreams, light sleep, brain fog, hyperactive, ear ringing/buzzing, depression/anxiety, confusion, lack of patience etc. It affects animals and children too!
So, here are some recommendations you can do that will help you when solar flares strike!
What to Do
Getting down and dirty with elements straight from the Earth is a very grounding practice to incorporate into your life. One of the best ways is to get your bare feet to Earth. If you can’t do that, then placing your back up against a tree will help ground you as well. Another great grounding method is to garden and yes, pulling weeds counts! Lastly, working with clay as a craft project with also help you to ground down.
If you feel anxious or overwhelmed, your first stop in finding relief should be to check in with your breath. It’s common for those who have anxiety to take short, shallow breaths. Instead, focus on your breathing, taking deep breaths through the diaphragm. It will instantly help you to refocus and rebalance quickly.
When you can’t get outside or are too busy to try any of these methods, there are a variety of different products you can purchase that will help you ground down, whether you are at home, work, or traveling. Grounding or earthing mats are used under your feet, legs, arms, and you can even lay down on top of them.
Many use them while sitting at their desk to ground down and reduce the effects of electromagnetic fields from your computer or phone, too! Other products are grounding pendants, which have been bombarded with grounding frequencies, are helpful to wear and orgonite.
Cooking and cleaning the home are excellent ways to ground yourself inside the home. Not only does it help you ground but it gets you up and moving which is also very important when trying to move stuck energy in the body.
Listening to grounding frequencies are helpful in regaining focus, especially at work. Musical frequencies such as 256 Hz (chakra), 396 Hz (Solfeggio) or songs in the key of C will help you to open the root chakra and ground more effectively.
Finally, grounding is another term for opening your root chakra. The root chakra is also known as the Earth chakra. The elemental sound associated with the root chakra is listening to thunder. So, listening to a thunderstorm rolling in or on an electronic device is a wonderful and easy way to ground.
What to Eat
Your body may be able to ground and refocus after eating certain foods. Drinking lots of water, cooked greens, root vegetables, butter, and other healthy fats like eggs and avocados, bone-in soups and stews, well-soaked and cooked beans and rice, dense breads and sourdoughs, and iodine (from seaweed or as a supplement). Additionally helpful are tea and additional magnesium supplements, which you may need to take in order to calm your stressed nerves. Try to avoid coffee, sugar and stimulants, refined and processed foods, drugs and alcohol.
Be gentle with yourself. This is not all in your head, and energetically sensitive people are particularly susceptible to the more uncomfortable aspects of solar flares.
Crystals to Use
Crystals can be used for a variety of purposes, but there are some stones that are perfect for helping you to ground down during meditation or your daily life. Utilize grounding crystals such as obsidian, black tourmaline, hematite, black onyx, shungite, red jasper, larvikite, indigo gabbro, silver leaf jasper, garnet and smoky quartz by carrying them in your left pocket, wearing them as jewelry and/or placing them under your pillow at night. You can also hold one of these crystals in your hand and release all unwanted energies down through your body and into the crystal (just visualize the energy moving).
Useful Essential Oils
Vetiver or patchouli oil can be used on the soles of your feet and/or ankles for extra grounding. Cedar-wood oil will help you with emotional distress and insomnia. Lavender oil on your throat, temples and wrists will help to calm and soothe your emotions.
How to Maximize the Energy from Solar Flares
Meditation (especially short, guided meditations), writing and art, journalling and inner journey work are all things that can be very productive during solar flares. In this time of energetic upheaval, we can often find great clarity and self-illumination.
Listen to your body and what it’s telling you. If you need to take a short break or nap, then honor your body and do it. Feeling as if you need to take a shower? Then don’t put it off, do it right away.
